Mcilroy And Lowry Remain Well Placed At Irish Open

McIlroy and Lowry Keep Eyes on the Prize at Irish Open

Two of golf's biggest stars, Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry, are in position to make a run at the Irish Open title after two days of play at Mount Juliet Estate.

McIlroy shot a 3-under 69 on Friday to put him at 8-under par for the tournament and one shot off the lead. Lowry, the reigning Open champion, shot a 4-under 68 to move to 7-under and two shots back.

McIlroy, a four-time major champion, is seeking his first Irish Open title. He has finished in the top 10 in each of the past three years, including a runner-up finish in 2020.

Lowry, who won the Open at Royal Portrush in 2019, is also seeking his first Irish Open title. He has finished in the top 10 in each of the past two years, including a tie for third in 2021.

Both players will be in the final group on Saturday, along with Italian Guido Migliozzi, who shot a 7-under 65 on Friday to take a one-shot lead.

The final round of the Irish Open will be played on Sunday.
