Cubs Break Out of Slump
After a two-game sweep of the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field, the Cubs improved to 34-31, moving them over .500 for the first time since June 10.
Seiya Suzuki continued his hot streak, recording his first career multi-home run game with homers in the first and fourth innings off Marlins starter Trevor Rogers. The latter homer, a 407-foot missile to left-center field, gave the Cubs a 5-0 lead.
Suzuki's third hit of the night was a triple to right in the eighth inning, giving him his second career game with at least two homers and a triple.
Imanaga Shines on Mound
Shota Imanaga made his third start of the season, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out seven over seven innings.
The outing lowered Imanaga's ERA to 4.15, continuing his strong start to the season.
With the victory, the Cubs extended their winning streak to three games and improved to 15-13 at home.
