WEB Pakistan has confirmed its first monkeypox case of the year after a man who recently returned from Saudi Arabia tested positive for the virus.
WEB The diagnosis was confirmed on August 13th, making it the first reported case of monkeypox in Pakistan this year.
Pakistans health ministry confirmed on Friday that the patient contracted the mpox virus during his travels to a Gulf country.

- The virus can be transmitted through contact with an infected animals or humans
- There is no cure for monkeypox, but the symptoms usually resolve on their own within 2-4 weeks
The health ministry has urged the public to take the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the disease.
This includes avoiding contact with infected animals or people, and washing hands frequently.
